Rules

Divisions

  • Children age 6 to 12

  • Female Pre-Junior ages 12 - 14

  • Male Pre-Junior ages 12 - 14

  • Female Junior ages 14 - 17

  • Male Junior ages 14 - 17

  • Female Adults ages 18 - 35

  • Male Adults ages 18 - 35

  • Female Seniors ages 35 plus

  • Male Seniors ages 35 plus

Divisions will be subject to change the day of the tournament.


Patterns

Competition is open to all ranks.

  • ITF Patterns only.

  • Brackets are sorted by age and rank. (The senior umpire can make changes based on competitors.)

  • Competition rules are as follows:

    • Single elimination rounds.

    • One ring, two competitors.

    • Judging panel of 3 - 5 black belts.

    • Competitors perform one optional pattern



Sparring

Sparring gear is required (handgear, footgear, headgear, groin cup (boys), mouthguard).

Weight categories for black belts will be based on the ITF requirements,
Note subject to change on the day of the tournament.

Point Scoring System:

1 point - kick to the body, punch to the body, punch to the head

2 points - kick to the head, flying kick to the body, flying punch to the head

3 points - flying kick to the head



Team Patterns

  • Teams comprise of 3 students

  • Teams must be prepared before the tournament begins

  • Teams may be comprised of different ranks, genders, and ages

  • Teams will perform the highest rank pattern of the lowest rank teammate

  • All competitors on teams must be registered for the tournament
